Abstract

The importance of this research lies in its attempt to identify the injuries suffered by young football players, their frequency, and the most commonly injured body parts. This is crucial for mitigating the effects of these injuries, which could potentially end the promising careers of young football players. Identifying these injuries and their prevalence among the research sample, particularly within the crucial age group of youth, is a topic worthy of study. This research provides specialists in sports injury rehabilitation with data that can guide players towards appropriate treatment from specialized physicians, thus facilitating the rehabilitation phase, which falls within the core disciplines of physical education and sports science. To identify common injuries among young football players in Najaf Governorate clubs, the researcher employed a descriptive survey methodology, deemed suitable for the nature of the research problem. The current research population consists of 219 players from Najaf Governorate football clubs participating in the Iraqi Stars League (Najaf, Naft Al-Wasat), the Premier League (Kufa), and the Youth League (Najaf, Naft Al-Wasat, Kufa). The most common injury is to the adductor muscles, accounting for 17.11% of cases. Special attention should be paid to training the adductor and hamstring muscles, as they are the most susceptible to injury.
