This study examines the evolution of sports for individuals with disabilities in Algeria, highlighting its progression from modest local efforts to advanced national programs. Adaptive physical activity is defined as activities modified to suit the needs and capabilities of persons with disabilities, and the study explores methods for adapting these activities through specialized equipment and rule modifications. The research emphasizes the importance of such activities in enhancing the physical and mental well-being of people with disabilities, focusing on the foundations and principles such as individual adaptation and providing a supportive environment. Sports for people with disabilities are categorized according to types of disabilities, and the study discusses the hierarchical organization of special education programs to ensure effective and comprehensive education. Finally, the research outlines the various benefits of adapted physical education, including improved physical and mental fitness, enhanced social interaction, and increased independence for individuals with disabilities.
