Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of sports media in promoting health, social, and national awareness among Palestinian university students during the Israeli wars. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers adopted the descriptive-analytical approach. The study population consisted of students from An-Najah National University and Al-Quds University, while a random sample of 300 male and female students from the faculties of physical education at both universities was selected. A questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection after its validity and reliability had been established. Following data collection and statistical analysis, the results indicated that the role of sports media in promoting health, social, and national awareness among Palestinian university students during the Israeli wars was moderate. The findings also revealed no statistically significant differences in students’ perceptions of the role of sports media attributable to gender and academic year variables. Based on these findings, the researchers recommended strengthening the role of sports media in promoting health, social, and national awareness among Palestinian university students and developing sports media programs that contribute to enhancing awareness, national belonging, and social cohesion.
