Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of semi-sport games in developing some coordinative abilities among fifth-grade primary school pupils, namely balance ability, reaction ability, and motor linkage ability. The study adopted a descriptive survey method and involved a sample of 30 physical education teachers from Khenchela Province, in addition to 5 teachers in the pilot study, selected from a total population of 120 teachers. A questionnaire was used as the main data collection tool, and its validity and reliability were verified, with a reliability coefficient of 0.86. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test (Khi-square) through SPSS software.

The results revealed statistically significant evidence confirming that semi-sport games play an effective role in developing the studied coordinative abilities among fifth-grade pupils by improving balance, enhancing reaction speed, and promoting motor coordination and movement integration. The findings also confirmed the general hypothesis and all sub-hypotheses of the study.

The study concluded that semi-sport games represent an effective educational approach contributing to the development of pupils’ motor, psychological, and social aspects. It recommended integrating these games into physical education teaching at the primary level, moving away from traditional methods, and encouraging further research in this field.
