Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of team sports in developing social skills among preschool children, by identifying the level of these skills among children who practice team sports and examining differences according to the sector variable (public–private). The study adopted a descriptive method and included a sample of 40 kindergarten teachers from the municipality of El Oued, selected randomly. A social skills scale consisting of three dimensions was used: social communication, cooperation, and emotional regulation.

The results showed that the level of social skills is high among children who practice team sports from the teachers’ perspective. The findings also revealed no statistically significant differences in social skills according to the sector (public–private).

The study concluded that team sports effectively contribute to the development of social skills in preschool children regardless of the sector type. It recommended strengthening and implementing team sports activities in kindergartens and providing training programs for teachers to enhance children’s social skills.
