A study of body mass index levels in children (12-15 years old): A comparative study between rural and urban areas in the state of Batna

This study came with the aim of identifying the level of body mass index (BMI) among rural and urban children in our country, and to find out whether there are differences between rural and city children among the members of the study sample, which numbered (860 children) from the countryside and the city, ranging in age. From 12 to 15 years, they were randomly selected as 430 children from Abdul Hadi Muhammad Middle School in the municipality of Manaa and 430 children from Oulad Bashina Middle School, Base 04, in the city of Batna. Procedures included height and weight measurements to calculate the body mass index (BMI). After collecting the results and statistical analysis, the study concluded that most of the urban and rural children ranged. The body mass index (BMI) among the city children was limited to the sample of males (12 years old) at the thin level, while the rest (males and females) were at the normal level. As for the rural children, it was limited to all. Males (12-15 years old) are at the lean level, and for females, they are at the normal level
