This study aimed to investigate the role of sports participation in reducing chronic diseases among children. Childhood obesity is considered a major public health concern, as excess body weight places children at an increased risk of developing health problems that were once regarded primarily as adult conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. Moreover, childhood obesity may lead to low self-esteem and depression.
Regular participation in sports plays a significant role in a child's life by promoting physical fitness, developing motor and athletic skills, and enhancing physical abilities that are beneficial in daily life. These abilities enable children to better cope with various challenges and difficulties. Furthermore, regular physical activity is an effective preventive measure against a wide range of chronic diseases, particularly obesity, thereby contributing to improved health and overall well-being during childhood.
