Abstract

This study investigates the psychological, social, and environmental barriers affecting high school female students and their performance in physical education classes. The problem arises from some students’ reluctance to participate in sports activities despite their importance in improving physical, psychological, and social health. The study aims to identify the factors preventing active participation in physical education and to provide recommendations to enhance performance and engagement. The research followed a descriptive analytical method with a sample of 100 students from Cheraga secondary schools, using observation, questionnaires, and personal interviews. Results showed that community traditions, family influence, lack of encouragement from teachers, and insufficient attention from the Ministry and administration negatively affect students’ performance. The study emphasizes the need to raise awareness among families and teachers, provide material and moral support, and develop sports facilities to ensure active participation of female students in physical education classes.
