Abstract

In order to advance the level of volleyball in Algeria, especially in the neglected junior ranks; we studied through our study the speed of motor performance of the limbs and its effect on the motor skills of volleyball players in Algeria 9-12 years old. Where we addressed two aspects, the theoretical aspect through which we tried to explain the variables that make up the research and the applied aspect that explains the method of collecting, analyzing and discussing data in order to reach an answer to the problem raised and confirm or deny the hypotheses raised. Where we raised several questions through which we assumed that there is a correlation between the speed of the lower and upper limbs and the performance of motor skills among players. In our study, we used a sample consisting of 171 players from different Algerian volleyball teams, all of whom are of the same age group and differ in age. We confirmed their homogeneity and the validity of applying the tests to them after conducting the exploratory study. In order to evaluate well and delve into the study, a set of tests specific to the speed of the limbs were used to determine their effect and association with motor skills. It was found that there is a correlation between motor skill performance and limb speed, which increases and decreases with age among players and also varies from one skill to another
