Abstract

This study aimed to highlight the role of adapted physical activity in developing the trait of competitive behavior among individuals with physical disabilities. The study was conducted on the Amal Bousaada wheelchair basketball team, with a sample consisting of 15 players with physical disabilities. The researchers relied on the Competitive Behavior Scale designed by Dorothy Harris (1984), which aims to measure competitive behavior among athletes who require guidance, care, and training in psychological. The descriptive method was employed to analyze the study data. The results revealed that adapted physical activity directed toward individuals with physical disabilities in pedagogical centers and sports fields is highly effective in enhancing their level of competitive behavior. It also contributes to strengthening their social integration by fostering positive relationships and interactions with their non-disabled peers.
