Abstract

This study addressed several key aspects, including the introduction and importance of the research, which lies in the use of exercises specific to a high-intensity playing style. The significance of the research lies in the development of these exercises, which utilize aerobic intensity (85-95% of VO2 max) with moderate rest periods. The researchers believe these exercises positively impact the maximum oxygen consumption of young football players, as well as developing their complex skills. The research problem stems from the researchers' field experience, which revealed a weakness in functional aspects, hindering players' ability to maintain performance until the end of a match. Therefore, the researchers decided to develop exercises based on a high-intensity playing style that would positively affect the maximum oxygen consumption and complex skills of young football players. These exercises involve high aerobic intensity with short rest periods. The main objective of the research is to identify the effect of exercises based on a high-intensity playing style on the maximum oxygen consumption (Vo2max) and complex skills of young football players. The researchers employed an experimental method to address this problem. The research sample consisted of (20) advanced players from Naft Al-Wasat Sports Club's football team. They were randomly divided into two equal groups (drawn by lot). The most important conclusion was that training with a high-intensity playing style led to an increase in VO2max (maximum oxygen consumption) by increasing muscle cell activity to expend more oxygen as energy. The most important recommendation is to advise coaches of teams in sports institutions under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as coaches of clubs and national teams, to incorporate high-intensity playing style training into their training programs, given its tangible positive impact on players.
