Abstract

The current study aims to examine the extent to which educational competencies indicators are present among physical education teachers in secondary education. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher employed a descriptive correlational methodology and adopted a comprehensive census approach for the entire population, comprising 126 teachers distributed across 59 secondary schools. The researcher utilized an educational competencies questionnaire divided into four domains, aligned with the core components of educational competencies for physical education teachers. The study concluded that the population demonstrates a high level of core educational competencies and achievement motivation. Additionally, the findings revealed a statistically significant, weak positive correlation between the dimensions of assessment competency, communication competency, and achievement motivation within the study sample. Finally, the researcher recommended the necessity of increasing the number of training courses and scientific and professional seminars to qualify teachers and help them more to acquire and develop educational competencies in a manner that suits their needs by monitoring their performance.
